Fragrance Review: Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs Perfume for Women
Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs is a soft sweet fruity floral summery scent which came out this year (2014). It is a new more sophisticated twist on the original Daisy fragrance which debuted in 2007.
The scent is crisp, fresh, light, and airy. The main attraction is a fruity smell with a bit of floral in the background. You can wear this fragrance every day for any occasion because the fragrance is pleasant and sweet. The composition is said to create a "blue effect" due to the fruity floral notes. This fragrance targets a younger, more youthful customer.
You can detect the fruity aroma of blackberries, pear, blue wisteria, jasmine, and coconut water. This very pretty & lovely fragrance comes in an Eau De Toilette spray. Because this is an Eau De Toilette spray the scent will last between four to six hours. Retail for a 3.4 oz bottle is suggested at $94.
One of my favorite places online to purchase fragrances, aside from Amazon, is FragranceNet.com. They currently have a 3.4 ounce size bottle of Daisy Dream on sale for $79! That's a savings of over 20%!
A pretty fruity floral scent that is light, crisp, and clean smelling.

The Cutest Bottle
The glass bottle is really pretty accented with white daisies around the silver mirror-like top. It is interesting to note that there are actually no daisies in the perfume composition itself. The bottle is clear glass displaying the light blue liquid inside. On the center half of the bottle is Daisy Dream Marc Jacobs in black letters. The silver mirror-like cap is adorned with gold hues and the same white daisies with gold centers.
Sizes: The bottles come in three different sizes, including: 1.0 oz, 1.7 oz, and 3.4 oz. You can also find this fragrance in a luminous body lotion and an uplifting shower gel.
Blackberry Note
The "Blue Effect" Notes
- Top Notes include blackberry, grapefruit and pear.
- MIddle Notes include a bouquet of jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria.
- Base Notes include a medley of white woods, musks and coconut water.
The scent is of a fruity floral accented with a light and airy aspect. The fragrance was inspired by daisies and blue skies. Elegance and femininity is what you can expect from Marc Jacob's Daisy Dream fragrance.
Short vs. Long Term Scent
- Eau de Toilette - Somewhat less concentrated than Eau de Parfum. Lasts from four to six hours.
- Eau de Parfum - Longer lasting with increased oil content that stays on your skin. Lasts a minimum of eight hours.
Judging a Perfume by its Notes:
It is important to allow a perfume to set on our skin for a time period before deciding if it is for you or not. If you smell it too quickly after the first spray, you may get a strong alcohol scent. Or you may not notice the base notes which come in a bit later.
Each perfume will change over time depending on the notes that are within the composition. Notes are different for every perfume. Notes are what make the perfume smell completely unique, or different, from other perfumes that you might have smelled.
The top notes will smell for approximately ten to fifteen minutes. These are the notes that you notice first. The middle notes come in after the top notes and stay from thirty minutes to an hour more. In the last stage of the fragrance, the base notes come in and will sing on your skin for the remainder of the day. Therefore, you should wear a perfume for about an hour before deciding whether you like it or not. This is when the base notes come in that you may not notice at the first spray.
